Is it normal for me to have a disdain for anyone who isn't an Anglophone? ?

To me, it is perfectly logical to prefer the tongue of the civilised over the gruntings of the barbaric savages, but my French (The language of the god of savages, the devil himself) speaking friend told me that I am a bigot and am extremely prejudice. He went on to say that most of the words in the English language can trace their origins to France. Is there any truth to the poppy that he was spouting?
