What is the best time to hunt Coyote?

i would like to knw the best time of day to hunt coyote in Connecticut. where would be the best place to look for them, (terrain-wise), from a stand or on the ground. what calls are the best to use. i have a 30-30 winchester zeroed in for 100 yards, good for up to around 250. Is this enough gun? also, has anyone around CT had any luck with these things.
