Are Americans becoming increasingly disappointed with California?

I know there are very many good people there but the state has become more and more outrageous in it's ideals. There doesn't seem to be a switch to turn it off while it just keeps gaining speed toward it's own demise, like a runaway train headed down a dead end track.
